Returns and Warranty
In our experience, customers almost never want to return one of these heaters after trying it, and, due to the quality of engineering, serious warranty issues are rare. If a problem should arise, however, we'll do our best to take care of it both fairly and promptly. Our policies are detailed below.
Returns Accepted Within 30 Days
If you are dissatisfied with your heater for any reason, you may return it within 30 days of purchase (the date on your receipt). Simply contact us for a return authorization number, and we will provide a shipping address for the return (we do not pay the return shipping cost). When we receive the heater, it will be inspected and, if we find it to be in new condition, we will issue you a full refund of the original purchase price. If the heater is significantly damaged and will require repair, up to a 25% restocking fee may be deducted from the refund.
3-year Parts & Labor Warranty
SolarFlare heaters come with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty that covers the entire heater, including the elements. Within the warranty period, replacement parts will be supplied free of charge upon request. The design of the heater makes it relatively easy for anyone with basic mechanical skills and a few standard tools to repair.
If you prefer to ship your heater back to the factory for service, you may do so; you will be responsible only for shipping it one way to Buffalo, MO, where the factory is located. (If you call us, we can print a shipping label for you at a discounted rate.) If in warranty, the heater will be repaired and shipped back to you for free.
Parts for out-of-warranty heaters may be ordered by calling us, and are generally not that expensive. (The infrared elements, the most commonly replaced part, currently cost $10 each plus shipping.) You may also ship your out-of-warranty heater to the factory for repair, the cost of which will be quoted to you, including return shipping, before any work is done.
